My biggest gripe with the book is the paper quality ...

My biggest gripe with the book is the paper quality. With such vivid and detailed infographics, you really need a glossier paper to bring out the differences in color, or the crispness of the text. With some infographics, I can't tell between the red and fuchsia, for instance, so I can read the infographic! And sometimes the text is so tiny, but the grain of the paper makes it hard to read. And again, the overall vividness of the designs is lost on the paper stock they used . . .

Clever, bright and bold

This collection of various infographics related to literature is a book that just feels nice to hold and look through. It is printed on thick, high-quality paper, with bright bold colors throughout, very eye-catching. The layout and design is creative and obviously well planned. The topics are clever and wide-ranging, some general, some very specific. Occasionally, I found there was too much information to digest. The overall content, for me personally, was too broad. I didn't know many of the greater world literature references, and if I didn't get the reference, I didn't find the graphic interesting. Five stars for the format, design, and layout, three stars for the content.

Clever and informed - great for those who love books and knowing about them, too

I bought two to give to family members who are in 1) digital humanities and 2) library sciences. It's a bit addicting with its fun and bite-sized display of facts and did-ya-knows.
