The story is inventive

I liked the first book I read by this author. It was well-written and fun. This one however wasn't fun. It was well-written, but too long, had too much story but not enough sex or erotica. Yes the author strives for realism, and if that's your thing then this is the book for you. But I like my stories to get to the point. Wham, bam thank you ma'am. This wasn't that.
But in saying that. The story is inventive. It's told through the main characters perspective and news clippings, which creates a clear-cut world chock full of interesting people and interesting situations. But nowhere near enough sex or masturbation for it to call itself erotica. Erotica-lite maybe, but not erotica.
The author has skill, so much so that I'd love to see what she can do with standard fiction. I guarantee she can create a mind-blowing world and characters. She's that skilled. I also wouldn't mind seeing what she can do with non-realism erotica. Something filthy. Something that'll make you need church after you're finished.

I want to win a basket of porn!

What a great book. I walked in on this one not knowing what to expect. The forwars helped shed light on the adventure I was about to take, but it didn't tell me the amount of imagination I was about to read.
The different posts were hilarious and heart breaking at the same time. Many times I was shaking my head and smiling.
People are so quick to judge and condemn. Even though Patient didn't describe her characters I was able to picture them all. Especially the old biddy church lady (who probably needs a porn basket to give hee something to do so she'll mind her own business) to the pastor who ostracized the poor teacher. The hypocrisy was spot on.

Slick, Perceptive, Amusing

Patient Lee has style and an obvious wry sense of fun. I confess of not knowing what to expect, and the first chapter revealed what I was in for. It was pretty much in your face... Excuse the expression!
I loved the juxtaposition of small town family friendly summer fair offering a basket of porno material as a raffle prize. and won by the local school mistress...wonderful imagination. Against this, PL escalates the tone and tenor of the outraged sanctimonious community v a few supporters of the hapless teacher. The result is inevitable. Chapter nine turns it all around and I found myself grinning.
Light and amusing stuff.
